Summer Term 2021 – Island Life

We have had a busy time during this half term!

Our theme this term is called Island Life and is all about looking at the United Kingdom, the geography of it, as well as its physical and human features. The children have so far enjoyed several outdoor activities, including exploring plants around our school as ‘plant detectives’ for our Science learning. They have also enjoyed exploring the different human and physical features around our school. The Year 2’s have also been on an exciting walk around Bussage village to discover the different features we could see around there. It was so lovely to do something a little bit different after the year the children have all had and everyone was fantastic and really enjoyed it!

We are looking forward to learning more about the United Kingdom after the half term break, as well as exploring light, weather and seasons in Science.

In English, we have used the text ‘Little Red’ to do lots of fantastic writing. The children have produced amazing ‘Wanted’ posters for the Big Bad Wolf, as well as brilliant alternative traditional tales and even a non-chronological report about Big Bad Wolves! What busy Year Two’s they have been!
