Class 5 - Autumn 2026
PSHE Collaboration
Year 5 enjoyed a fun teamwork and oracy challenge this week! They had just 10 minutes to work together to build the tallest tower possible, with one important rule – it had to be strong enough to hold a bean bag!
The children used their oracy skills to share ideas, listen to each other and decide how they would make their towers strong and stable. It was fantastic to see them communicating, problem-solving and working collaboratively under pressure.

Forest school 2026
Year 5 have been thoroughly enjoying their Forest School sessions this term. During their learning, they discovered how to create sparks using flint and steel and even learned the skills needed to build and light a small fire safely. The children also explored the properties of different materials by collecting natural objects from around the forest and testing their characteristics.

Welcome to the Year 5 Blog!
We are looking forward to a fantastic term of learning and discovery in Year 5. This term, our history focus is Ancient Greece, where we will explore Greek civilisation, learn about the famous Greek gods and myths, and discover how Greek philosophy and democracy continue to influence modern Britain today.
In geography, we will be comparing the landscape and physical features of Greece with those of our local area, helping us to understand the similarities and differences between the two regions.
