Our Vision & Values
Learning for life in all its fullness
At Bussage C of E Primary School, our mission is to provide a learning and development environment in which all pupils and staff can flourish. We welcome families of all faiths, or none, into our school and are incredibly proud of the welcoming and inclusive nature of our community. Our thematic, creative curriculum has been designed to encourage every child to make the most of their potential and aspire to be the best that they can be. Our school is one in which children can learn safely with guidance, support, a strong sense of community and a broad awareness of, and sensitivity to, their environment and society.
The theology underpinning our vision, "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."(John 10:10)
is central to the formation of our curriculum which has been designed to develop ‘the whole child’. Put simply, we want all our children to experience all that the world has to offer, to know their importance within it and to be a shining example of all that is good. We guide them to recognise the light that their talents, gifts, character and acts of kindness can shine into the world, making it a better place for all those around them.
Our vision and Christian values are at the heart of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to leave our setting as confident, happy individuals who live life to the full.
Well-being is valued across the school and we encourage mindfulness to allow pupils the time to reflect upon their spiritual development. Teachers recognise the importance of giving time to pause and think throughout the school day. Staff have received spirituality training from the diocese and have fully embedded the use of OWs, WOWs and NOWs across the school.
The Ows
These are the things that can go wrong. They can knock the breath out of you.
The Wows
These are the awe and wonder moments. The times when you want to breathe in and capture the feeling, holding onto it as long as you can.
The Nows
These are the everyday ordinary times. Thinking of what we have now and how lucky we are to be here, now.
Our newly refurbished ‘Tranquility Garden’ gives children a calm and inviting space to reflect on their spirituality, pray or take a mindful moment in the midst of a busy school day. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a wonderful outdoor space for our children to use both with their class and during break times.
