Our theme this term is ‘What a Wonderful World’! Here you can see all the exciting things we will get up to as the children explore our amazing world and learn about the places, animals, and environments within it.
Around the World in Maps!
11.05.26- In Geography, we have been learning about hot and cold places around the world. Today, the children explored different maps from our class atlases: a climate map and a world maps. They used these to create a table identifying hot and cold countries and the continents they are located in. Some children were able to draw on their previous knowledge to explain why countries near the Equator are more likely to be hot.
Friday Challenges
In Class Two, on a Friday afternoon, children have a free choice of how they would like to build on their knowledge of our topic within the classroom provision. Some of the learning that took place this week included: creating animals and landmarks from hot and cold places, drawing animals we have been learning about in science, and exploring non-fiction books. It was wonderful to see them taking ownership of their learning and deepening their understanding through their own interests.
Maths in the Sunshine Part 2!
27.04.26 ? As the sun was shining once again, we couldn't resist taking our retrieval lesson on part-whole models outside!
Maths in the Sunshine
17.03.26- We have had a great start to the term in Maths, learning all about volume and capacity. We were lucky enough to enjoy some lovely weather this week, so we made the most of our outdoor area by measuring the volume and capacity of different items.
