Bear Necessities – Spring 2023

This term Rainbows are exploring the theme ‘Bear Necessities’. We will be using lots of stories about bears to find out all about bears.

The Rainbows are investigating their own questions about bears:

Where do they live? What do they eat? Why do they sleep in the winter? Which is the biggest bear?

The stories we will be reading include ‘We’re going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen’, ‘Big Bear, Little Brother by Carl Norac’, ‘Goldilocks and the three bears’ and ‘Whatever Next’. We will also use information books from the library.

We began the term with some bear art work and a ‘Bear Hunt’ to our local woods.

We’ve learnt lots about bears this term and ended our theme by planning and preparing a teddy bears picnic for our bears.
